Are you on the lookout for a new car but your budget is a bit on the tight side and don’t want to settle for an older model? Then check out these new cars. We’ve done our research and these should hopefully be within financial reach…

1. Dacia Duster Access – starting at £9,495

With this sport utility vehicle (SUV) you get a lot of car for your money. Although there are few luxuries to speak of, this model has comprehensive safety features and its spacious inside is as generous as a Nissan Qashqai, and it’s half the price.

 2. Skoda Citigo – starting at £8,780

If safety is your priority, this sturdy city car has a full five-star rating from independent safety experts, Euro NCAP. Although the spec isn’t overly generous, the basics are to a high standard.

 3. Dacia Sandero – starting at £5,995

The Sandero probably won’t be winning many awards for its overall aesthetic, but as the cheapest new car on the market, when it comes to price, it simply can’t be beaten.

4. Seat Mii – starting at £10,555

Near-identical to the Citigo, the Mii channels the sporty energy of larger Seats and according to the experts, it’s a lot of fun to drive.

5. Dacia Logan – starting at £7,295

With an enormous 573-litre boot, the Logan is only slightly smaller than a Volkswagen Golf Estate and is a fraction of the price.

6. Kia Picanto – starting at £9,495

This smart city car is five-door and can comfortably seat four adults. Coupled with its impressive seven-year, 100,000 mile warranty, the Picanto offers bags of reassurance on four wheels.

 7. Hyundai i10 – starting at £9,540

Similar to the Picanto, the i10 has five doors, although it also has five seats, and a more spacious interior making it the most comfortably scaled city car on the list.

8. Peugeot 108 – starting at £9,120

Almost identical to the Seat Mii and Skoda Citigo, the 108 is more conservative in its design, but is still nippy and stylish. With its impressive fuel economy – it gets 68.9 miles to the gallon – it’s also a good option for the cost-conscious.

 9. Citroen C1 – starting at £8,270

Another smart-styled city car, the C1 can pack a bit more punch as it has the choice of two engines – a 1.0 litre with 68bhp or a larger 1.2 litre with 82bhp, slightly more bite.

 10. MG ZS SUV – starting at £12,495

MG’s first foray into the crossover market has produced this sophisticated SUV that undercuts its direct rivals – such as the Renault Captur, SEAT Arona and Kia Arona – by several thousand pounds.
